Dechen Ongmu Bhutia

Dechen Ongmu Bhutia, a dedicated educator with a passion for both learning and teaching, embarked on her educational journey at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and completed her higher secondary education at Tashiding Senior Secondary School. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to IGNOU, where she earned a degree in education and completed a D.El.Ed. diploma in elementary education at Gazing over two years.

Joining Sikkim Himalayan Academy in March 2024, Dechen finds profound joy in the reciprocal process of learning while teaching, fostering a sense of pride and achievement when her students excel. She cherishes SHA for its supportive environment, where Principal Sir's nurturing guidance and the companionship among staff create a familial atmosphere.

Beyond education, Dechen is an avid traveller who delights in exploring new destinations. Her passions for food, dance, and singing reflect her vibrant spirit, enriching both her personal and professional pursuits at SHA.
